Episode Description

In today’s episode, I am excited to introduce you to my special guest Lea Misan. Lea is a process-oriented psychotherapist, ex-pat coach, facilitator, trainer, blogger, and the Executive Director at Act for Change. As a parent, Lea was inspired by those who acted to save a life at a moment of violent trauma and dispossession during the Holocaust. Act for Change was born out of a leap of imagination that each of us can connect, share and extend the possibility of empathy.

Her mission is to stop exclusion from escalating into violence. To achieve this, she aims to let no child be left out and to create an inclusive circle of support around each child.Lea is also passionate about helping internationals, ex-pats, and global nomads to achieve clarity around how to take charge of life, work, and wealth to shape their future and finally find a “Home” in the world.

Born in Jerusalem, she grew up in Geneva and now lives in London, UK, with her husband and three children.

In this podcast conversation, we talk about how to find a home in the world living as a nomad, third culture kid, overcoming challenging experiences, not allowing your inner critic to have a voice, and how to counterbalance the critic with a compassionate voice. Finally, we talk about how to follow the signs in life to identify what belongs to us, what we can give back, and how to honor the call to presence. It has been my pleasure to have Lea join me, and I know, my listeners, that you will enjoy the episode.

Marlene McConnell is an author, podcast host, self-love teacher and trauma survivor. She believes that trauma recovery is accessible to everyone, and that it starts with the acknowledgement that something has happened to you combined with a willingness to heal. McConnell’s book and podcast was inspired by the realization that she touched many lives by sharing her story at a support group.
