There is an expression that goes, only in pain did I find my will, only in chaos, did I learn to be still, only in my fear, did I find my might, only in darkness, did I see my light. We all experience some darkness in our lives, some darker than others. If you are here reading this blog, you have experienced some darkness as well as light. With every experience that we have in life comes an opportunity to dig deep within ourselves and connect to Spirit’s source within us. It gives us a choice to learn the lesson or accept the calling or reject the lesson and have it come around once again in a different form. When we embrace our experiences, we let the light shine out of the darkness, as the scriptures teach us in 2 Corinthians 4:6.

When we embark on a spiritual growth journey, we undergo a transformational experience that moves us from one state of being to the next. Sometimes, it feels like an out-of-body experience or a metamorphosis.  It is different for everyone. In those moments, we are raw, vulnerable, but this leads us to unearth great healing for ourselves. When this happens, we have the power to go deep inside ourselves to find our inner light and move to a place of centeredness where we can live our life from a place of empowerment as opposed to desperation. This is when we start healing the world with our light.

My calling came several times in my life, and I ignored it because I did not want what I thought would be a burden, so I pushed away from the inner voice that started to guide me. Instead, I pursued my ideas and the life I thought I should lead. From a place of fear, desperation, stubbornness, and unhealed wounds, I embarked on that journey all the time, feeling my inner voice calling to me. What a wonderful life I created when it was not plagued by discomfort, lack of being grounded, no sense of belonging, fear, anxiety, stress, and resentment. Even though my life was moving along and time passed by, I stayed trapped in my version of my life. I should have remembered the Yiddish proverb, “Man plans, God laughs.”

It was not until a few years later that my inner voice would dominate my entire being and manifest physically. The experience was one where my whole body and mind started to pull me toward my path, whether I was a willing participant or not. The experience was so overwhelming and intense that I could not resist, and I realised that I had no control over what was about to happen. All I could do was surrender the obstacles that kept me from stepping into my power. Surrendering would lead me to self-discovery, self-love, and spiritual awakening. Through consistent daily practices, I found peace, love, harmony, and the ability to engage with my life in a more meaningful way. As a student of heal your life and a course in miracles, I am committed to the principles learned and apply these in my own life.

As I surrendered and embraced my calling, my ability to engage with this world and the spirit world became stronger. I would learn to stand in service to others and make a conscious commitment to Spirit to use my life as the testimony to reveal the grace and share the love as a lightworker.

In closing, I leave you with the words of the American poet Maya Angelou.

“Let nothing dim the light that shines from within you.”

I am sending you love and light on your journey to find your centered life.
